Qualification

BSc (Human Communication Science).

Chiara graduated from Curtin University at the end of 2007. She is registered as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. 

Speech Pathology Journey

Chiara has over 15 years experience working as a Speech Pathologist for babies and children. Chiara has worked in both Perth and London, gaining extensive clinical experience whilst working at Child Health Centres, in private practice and organisations such as the Ability Centre and Therapy Focus. 

Special Interests

Chiara has worked solely in the area of Paediatrics since she graduated over 15 years ago. She has a special interest in early intervention and in particular loves working with toddlers with delayed language skills. Helping a toddler say their first words is her specialty!

Chiara also has extensive experience working with children with speech sound difficulties and complex speech sound disorders.

Chiara is trained in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets), Lidcombe, Palin PCI Therapy for Stuttering, Gestalt Language Processing, DIR/Floortime, Parent Child Interaction Therapy and is also a Key Word Sign Presenter. 

Why babies and children?

I adore working with young children and helping them unlock the wonder of communication. Every individual deserves the right to communicate, whether that is through speaking or alternative methods of communication and being part of a child's communication journey from an early age is a privilege. I may be biased but I think communication is the most important skill your child masters in their early years! 
I love being able to work with a child's family and the people around them to support their child's communication skills. I always take time to talk to parents in sessions to help them find practical ways they can support their child's communication skills at home. After all, they are the one who spends the most time with the child so my job is to teach them to be the speechie at home!

Non work life

Chiara recently became a mother of 3 after welcoming her third child at the end of 2023.
Since becoming a mum, Chiara understands how busy life with kids can be and how to relate to parents and their little ones. 
When she's not working, you'll find her at her local cafe, catching up with friends or enjoying precious family time together with her husband and her 3 little ones.
