Problem solving with a Psychologist.

Sometimes, you don't need ongoing therapy; you just need a fresh perspective, a clinical "brain dump," and a practical roadmap for a specific challenge. These one-off sessions are designed for parents who are navigating a particular hurdle and want evidence-based strategies to implement immediately.

These consultations are for guidance and strategy. If during our session we identify that your child would benefit from more comprehensive therapy or a formal assessment, we will discuss those pathways with you.

Walky Talky Psychology; supporting caregivers who need a plan, not a process.

Targeted parenting Support

A problem-solving consultation is ideal for "isolated" challenges that feel overwhelming, such as:

  • Transitions: Starting childcare, moving house, or preparing for a new sibling.
  • Sleep & Routine: Navigating bedtime battles or major shifts in daily rhythms.
  • Specific Behaviours: Handling a new phase of biting, "big" toddler tantrums, or school refusal.
  • Parental Burnout: Identifying small, sustainable shifts to help you find your breath again.
  • "Is this normal?": A safe space to discuss concerns about your child's development or temperament without committing to a full assessment.

Perinatal Support

The period from conception through the first year of your baby's life is a time of immense vulnerability. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space to navigate:

  • Antenatal and Postnatal Anxiety, OCD & Depression
  • Birth Trauma: Processing difficult or unexpected birth experiences.
  • Adjustment to your new identity as a parent
  • Bonding and Attachment: Helping you feel connected to your baby, even when it feels hard.

One off Sessions What to Expect

These sessions are intensive and focused. To make the most of our time together, we offer:

  • Pre-Session Prep: We may ask you to complete a brief intake form or "behavioural snapshot" before we meet.
  • The 60-Minute Deep Dive: A dedicated hour (usually for parents only) to unpack the challenge.
  • The Action Plan: You will leave the session with 2–3 concrete, "relational" strategies to try at home right away.
  • No Waitlists: We prioritize specific "one-off" slots to ensure you get help when the problem is happening, not six months later.
  • Telehealth Friendly: Perfect for busy parents—hop on a call during a nap time or lunch break.
  • Expert Insight: Gain access to clinical psychology expertise without the formal "patient" intake process for your child.
