Psychological Assessments for Children; beyond the label.

At Walky Talky, we view assessments as more than just a series of tests. They are a way to deeply understand how your child’s brain is wired—their brilliance, their challenges, and how they experience the world.

A formal assessment provides a "roadmap." It helps parents, teachers, and therapists understand what support what your child needs to thrive.

Walky Talky Psychology; Gaining clarity and a roadmap for your child’s unique path.

Paediatric Assessment Services

We provide comprehensive evaluations for children and adolescents in several key areas:

  • Cognitive Assessments (IQ): Identifying a child’s learning profile, including intellectual strengths and areas where they might need extra processing time.

  • ADHD Assessments: A thorough look at attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning through a neuro-affirming lens.

Perinatal Support

The period from conception through the first year of your baby's life is a time of immense vulnerability. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space to navigate:

  • Antenatal and Postnatal Anxiety, OCD & Depression
  • Birth Trauma: Processing difficult or unexpected birth experiences.
  • Adjustment to your new identity as a parent
  • Bonding and Attachment: Helping you feel connected to your baby, even when it feels hard.

Diagnostic Assessments What to Expect

Assessments can feel like a big undertaking, so we keep our process transparent and supportive:

  • Initial Parent Consultation: We meet with you first to gather a developmental history and ensure we are choosing the right assessment pathway.

  • The Assessment Session(s): Your child completes cognitive assessment to determine their strengths and challenges and better understand how they process information.

  • The Analysis: We gather data from school observations and teacher/parent questionnaires to get a "whole-picture" view.

  • The Feedback Meeting: We sit down with you to explain the results and provide the opportunity for any questions

  • The Comprehensive Report: You receive a detailed written report with recommendations.
