Special Interests
Lydia has experience administering assessments with children and young people who may be struggling at school and providing strategies and recommendations to support them.
She also experiences providing therapy for a range of issues including anxiety, specific phobias, emotion regulation difficulties and helping families manage challenging behaviour.
Why babies and children?
I love working with children and young people because it gives me the opportunity to step into their wonderfully creative minds and see the world from their view. I am always amazed at how insightful and resilient children can be and I strongly believe 'kids do well, when they can' (Dr Ross Greeene). I like to help teach kids (and their parents) the strategies so that they can! I also feel very privileged to hear families stories and identify their strengths as a system (whatever that might look like).
Non work life
Lydia knows the importance of self-care and is down at the beach or camping in the wilderness whenever she gets the chance. She loves to delve into a good book or podcast, especially if it's anything related to mental health. Lydia is very passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and wants to celebrate different brains and ways of thinking.
