About Megan
Qualifications
BSC (Physiotherapy) Curtin University
Physiotherapy Journey
Megan started her career at the Cerebral Palsy Association, which later became known as Ability WA. During her time there she worked in School-Aged services, Early intervention services, and on the Adolescent Team. More recently she worked as a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist running lower limb and spinal clinics for clients of all ages, and providing Clinical support to her colleagues as well as managing her own Paediatric caseload.
Special Interests
Megan enjoys working with children at all stages of development. There is joy to be found in assisting babies and toddlers to achieve their early milestones, as well as assisting children to achieve higher level skills such as balancing, climbing, bike-riding and kicking a footy.
Megan also loves working with children with complex needs and finding creative ways to develop their skills and fitness. Megan is highly experienced at serial casting and enjoys running groups, and seeing the way children motivate one another.
Why babies and children?
It is great fun getting to know children and finding out what they love and how to make therapy fun and engaging for them. Having my own two children has given me a greater insight into how simple, silly play can enhance my therapy sessions.
Non work life
Megan is a not-particularly-skilled guitar and ukulele player and sings and plays percussion in a Beatles cover band called “The Fab Three”. Megan is a passionate Freo supporter and loves bush walks and kicking the footy with her kids. Megan loves to bake for her family and friends and has collected far too many aprons.
