More on The Baby MembershipHi! I’m Alison Mason,
a Physiotherapist who has worked with
babies and children for over 15 years.
Tummy time is something that always gets a bad rap. I’m often told ‘My baby hates tummy time’ and have helped out hundreds of babies both in clinic and friends’ babies to conquer tummy time.
When I brought my second baby home from the hospital, my then 2 year old daughter straight away asked if we could put her baby sister in tummy time as she had heard me help out friends and their babies so often before with tummy time!
Introducing tummy time play early and most importantly GENTLY means your baby will enjoy it.
In my 15 years of treating babies stuck with motor skills I have never seen a baby who loved tummy time but then go on to get stuck with mobility skills like creeping and crawling unless there was another cause. It's one of those things where a few minutes early can make a big difference later.
Tummy time has been so well substantiated in the literature as a play position that supports baby's development that even the World Health Organisation have guidelines on it! They recommend that for babies not yet mobile, they need at least 30 minutes in prone position (tummy time) spread throughout the day while awake”
“But how on earth can I get my baby to do 30 minutes of tummy time when they hate it so much Ali?”
I hear you….as a mum of a baby with bad reflux I know how hard it can be. But my reflux baby went on to love tummy time and was great at it! That is because I introduced it gently, using a range of tummy time positions to suit her needs throughout the day.
I’ve included all my tips and strategies (and SO many photos) into this e-book so that all parents can know how to help their bub in tummy time….an no longer fear it!

"M is loving her Tummy Time now! She's able to spend long periods on her tummy without any props under her chest and arms ππΌ
In the last week, she's gone from parachuting to pushing up on her arms and pivoting around to get to the toys she is interested in. It’s such a joy to watch her explore the world around her.
πThanks so much for your help in encouraging her development. It’s been amazing!"
Kristi, Yoga teacher and Mama of 1
"Rolled over and happily stayed on his tummy for a few minutes all by himself. Incredible progress just over the weekend.
"Truly appreciate all your suggestions and support. Such a generous and valuable gift you offer through this page! Thank you!"
