How is the Playgroup structured?

  • This playgroup is for Step by Step and Walky Talky clients only.
  • Sessions are specifically designed and tailored to your child's individual needs.
  • Each child will work at their own level on the specific skills we have been targeting in our individual sessions alongside their peers.
  • The playgroup is goal based and specific, the space and play activities will be specifically designed to meet the needs of the children attending
  • Play stations can be considered invitations or opportunities and will be set up to invite play and entice the children to practise their skills but the children don’t need to achieve every station in the circuit.
  • At times we come together for an activity but the way each child participates will be really different depending on the support they require
  • Babies or children will play together if they are both working on similar goals
  • At times parents work alone with their child at other times the physios work with the child. The physios keep moving around to support each family
  • Some stations are the same each week to build confidence. New challenges are thrown in each week as well
  • Babies and children watch each other and with time have the confidence to try things others have given a go.
