Ta-Dah! (and welcome to the world) 🐣
Oct 04, 2025Walky Talky Answers: Meet Chiara and Alison
Hello Mamas, lovely to meet you! We are Chiara Prigmore and Alison Mason, and this is our Blog, Walky Talky Answers 💬
Walky Talky Baby is a friendly and encouraging online community led by a Paediatric Speech Pathologist (Chiara) and Physiotherapist (Alison) supporting parents with communication, movement and play.
Image: We’ve been friends for years and yes, we also sometimes like to pretend we’re a big multi-generational girl band when we go out. (Our husbands LOVE it).
Walky Talky: Why We Started This Journey and How We Grew from Friendship to a Vision
Our aim is to help parents notice, and truly enjoy, every tiny milestone and to feel confident about supporting their child’s language, play and movement skills.
It all started a few years ago when we realised we had similar visions for how we wanted to help parents in our careers, and realised that if we paired together, we could provide both sets of valuable information in one forum! It’s evolved a lot since the early conversations, and what started as a weekly knitting/craft night (we both decided we needed less screen time in our lives and more crafting!) turned into a weekly ‘craftiness’ meeting (where craft meets business).
We ummed and ahhed about it for a long time and thought it would, perhaps, be better to start once we had finished having kids. As we shared our vision with our friends however, we kept getting the same feedback: "Wow, that would be amazing to have access to that information..."...you guys should definitely do it!".
Then, finally, one honest friend just about blurted out: "What are you waiting for….? Just DO it!"
Building Walky Talky During Challenging Times
So, after listening to *millions* of podcasts, starting our Instagram and Facebook pages and realising that there were parents out there who truly valued the information we were putting out, we thought: what better time to launch a website and a blog than in the middle of a pandemic (with husbands working 6 days a week, no day care and no access to grandparents)?
Actually, we figured we would be better to get this information out there (with you!) whilst we’re in the trenches with all you other new mamas and create the community that we want to be part of — after all, we know how much it's needed!
Walky Talky Blog: A Clear Voice for Parents
There is SO MUCH information out there, so we want to help simplify things a little, and provide a clear, calm, voice in this swirling blue ocean of information about baby development and play... part of ALL THAT is this blog!
You will be hearing from us about once a fortnight and we hope to ANSWER the burning questions you have about your baby’s language and motor development in the early years.

Worried about repetition or asking something “silly”? Let’s face it, if there’s a question you’re wondering about, there’s probably (many) other mamas out there, asking the same thing (and we don’t believe any questions are silly – they’re the signs of a curious mind 🧠)
So together, let’s make this community supportive and helpful.
